April is National Pickleball Month, Time to Celebrate!

“Pickleball is for all—one paddle, one ball, one community.” – USA Pickleball

Every April, the pickleball community unites for a full month of celebration, connection, and court time as we honor National Pickleball Month—an annual initiative founded by USA Pickleball in 2018 to grow the game and bring players together.

As pickleball continues to explode in popularity, National Pickleball Month offers a chance to highlight the inclusivity, energy, and community spirit that makes this sport so unique. With more than 150 events across the country this April, there’s no better time to get involved, invite new players, or introduce your own community to the joy of the game.

What is National Pickleball Month?

Established by USA Pickleball, National Pickleball Month is designed to:

  • Promote pickleball to all ages and abilities
  • Support local facilities, clubs, and park and rec departments
  • Encourage grassroots events like clinics, mixers, and tournaments
  • Showcase the health and social benefits of pickleball
  • Support businesses like teaching pros, court builders, and retailers

USA Pickleball has made it easy to celebrate with an official event toolkit, available on their website, which includes press release templates, marketing assets, and resources for local organizers to spread awareness and host their own celebrations.

What’s Happening This Year?

In April 2025, over 150 sanctioned events are taking place across the country—from Learn to Play nights and Monday mixers to Swag Days and Pickleball Parties. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned player, there’s an event for everyone.

USA Pickleball also invites members to register their local events, further strengthening the nationwide celebration and expanding opportunities to connect communities through pickleball.

Spotlight on USA Pickleball Serves

Launched during last year’s National Pickleball Month, USA Pickleball Serves is the charitable arm of USA Pickleball, with a mission to make a positive national impact through the sport by supporting community initiatives like court enhancements, educational youth programming and inclusive play.

This April, Serves is hosting several exciting initiatives including:

“Build-a-Pickleball Pack” Volunteer Event
In partnership with the Ticket to Dream Foundation, USA Pickleball members will assemble and distribute pickleball starter packs April 9–13 at the Mesa Golden Ticket Tournament to foster care agencies nationwide to introduce youth to the sport.

Learn-to-Play Clinics
New players can experience the sport through inclusive, welcoming clinics held around the country throughout the month.

These events represent the heart of pickleball: community, accessibility, and giving back.

Want to be part of the celebration? Here’s how to join in:
